Overview

The Diamond Light Source Macromolecular Crystallography group would like to invite both our academic and industrial users to an MX workshop on Tuesday 14th May between 13:00 - 17:00. This event is co-organised by Diamond Light Source and Colin Levy from The University of Manchester.

The afternoon workshop is an opportunity for Diamond Macromolecular Crystallography (MX) current and prospective users from across the Northwest (and beyond if you wish to join us in Manchester) to meet and hear from Diamond MX staff on the latest developments and capabilities available for your structural biology research.

The workshop is targeted at all, and is not limited to students and post docs. This is an in-person-only event, to be held at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, 131 Princes Street, Manchester, M1 7DN. Please book your free place now.

The programme will include a series of sessions including the following capabilities:

  • what can you do with really small beams - new micro/nano-focus beamline VMXm
  • exploring biology at room temperature - developments at the in situ beamline VMXi and dynamic structural biology serial crystallography options from I24, the XFEL Hub and VMXi
  • XChem fragment screening: preparation, experiment, and follow-up
  • what can you discover using long wavelength x-rays at I23

Registration

Attendance at this event is free of charge and includes refreshments in the coffee break. Registration remains open for further attendees.
