I15-1 XPDF User Meeting 2026
The I15-1 beamline will be hosting a science user meeting at Diamond Light Source on 22nd and 23rd July 2026.
This meeting will showcase the exciting total scattering and pair distribution function (PDF) science that is taking place across the user community, as well as instrumental developments happening at Diamond.
The programme will feature invited and contributed talks, a poster session and flash talks. There will be updates on beamline, detector and software developments at I15-1. There will be opportunities to network throughout the event, including a conference dinner in Oxford.
The meeting will highlight the major scientific themes within the community, including:
Battery and energy materials
Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)
Catalysis
In-situ and operando synthesis
Functional Materials
Disordered Systems
Invited speakers include:
Dr David Keen (ISIS Neutron and Muon Source)
Dr Celia Castillo-Blas (Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC))
DrJavier Castells-Gil (University of Birmingham)
Dr Camilla Di Mino (University of Oxford & ISIS)
Due to limited capacity, attendees will be selected to ensure a broad representation of research areas, institutions and career stages.
A registration fee of £120 will cover refreshments, the conference dinner, and transport to the dinner venue. Attendees will be responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs to and from Diamond Light Source. Discounted accommodation rates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
During the application process, you will be asked whether you would like to present a contributed talk or poster. Please include a provisional title and indicate the relevant science theme, as indicated above. The application form is open now, and it will close on 12th June at 17:00. Applicants will be notified by 19th June.
