78 79 Diamond’s iconic circular building – shaped to house our storage ring, which is in fact not a true circle, but a type of polygon called a pentacontagon, made of 50 straight sections angled together with 50 bending magnets. Pathogens can range from deadly to annoying, however their beauty at the atomic scale is uncontested. Mapped using data taken at Diamond, this is the Rotavirus – a highly transmissible stomach bug.
