Resolutions on this beamline, I14, can go down to the 50 nanometre level – a few millionths of a millimetre!​ (Image: Andrew Brookes) Samples at Diamond range from tiny pin head size and smaller, to a couple of metres and up to two tonnes in weight. This is a picture of a sample of wood taken from the Tudor warship the Mary Rose that has been analysed for conservation purposes.
