52 53 A range of capillary tubes each containing a different type of cement mixture for study on beamline I11’s Long Duration Experiment beamline, with the ultimate aim to identify a stronger cement. This facility is unique in the world and can house up to 20 experiments that run simultaneously for multiple years. (Image: Andrew Brookes) This is an example of where a non-destructive imaging technique can capture the internal components of a sample without harming it – in this case a flower bud.
